This 4-day midrange wilderness safari takes you deep into the heart of Tanzania’s legendary Northern Safari Circuit. You’ll journey through diverse and breathtaking landscapes: elephants wandering under ancient baobabs in Tarangire National Park, tree-climbing lions and flamingo-filled shores at Lake Manyara, and the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your Shafino Wildlife Safaris driver-guide. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll have time to relax, unwind, and prepare for the exciting days ahead. Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania, is the perfect gateway to your adventure.

After breakfast, we depart for Tarangire National Park, about 2.5 hours’ drive from Arusha. This park is famed for its majestic baobab trees, large elephant herds, and abundant wildlife drawn to the life-giving Tarangire River. Keep an eye out for giraffes, hartebeest, bushbuck, lions, leopards, and one of the planet’s richest collections of birdlife.
Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch inside the park before continuing to your chosen midrange lodge or camp in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Today we head to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, often called Africa’s Garden of Eden. Created millions of years ago by a collapsed volcano, this natural amphitheater spans 260 km² and hosts one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Expect to see herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, elephants, lions, and if lucky, the rare black rhino.
After a picnic lunch on the crater floor and a full day of game viewing, we return to your lodge or camp in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we head to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact gem known for its dramatic landscapes — from the towering Great Rift Escarpment to the shallow salt lake that hosts thousands of flamingos and over 500 bird species. Watch for baboons and elephants in the evergreen forests and the famous tree-climbing lions lounging in acacia branches.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before returning to Arusha or being dropped off at the airport for your onward journey.
