The Adventure Begins – A Steep Forest Climb

Your journey starts with a scenic drive to Umbwe Gate, where your Shafino team completes registration. The trek begins through thick rainforest, alive with the calls of exotic birds and the sight of colobus monkeys. Expect a steep, rugged ascent through ridges and gorges, setting the tone for your epic climb.

Breaking Above the Clouds

Summit day begins under the stars, with a midnight start. Trek past Stella Point to reach Uhuru Peak—Africa’s highest point—where you’ll savor the sunrise and panoramic views from 5,895 meters. After celebrations and photos, descend carefully back to Barafu for a rest, then continue to Mweka Camp.
